      Bass Culture

Watch this journey fuelled by enterprise, entrepreneurialism and creativity. Bass Culture retraces grime’s origins through the genres that preceded it. The film provides insight into the efforts of an underground, predominantly black British music community that continues to defy the industry’s assessments of its potential. Be sure to ask questions at the screening’s Q&A. The screening is being coordinated by Mykaell Riley and staged by Bass Culture Research, a project exploring the impact of Jamaican music in the UK.

This event is part of the Difference Festival at the University of Westminster taking place between 24-28 February. Explore the idea of ‘truth’ with a colourful array of free public workshops, discussions, activities and talks at the University of Westminster. The Difference Festival, curated by the academic staff from the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, University of Westminster, is an annual event open to the public to learn more about the world around us.
